About this course

One person, one course, built in the open. Here is who made it, how it is put together, and what you can hold it to.

Who makes it

Fernando Carril. I build software, and I kept running into the same gap: explanations of AI either stop at prompt tips or jump straight to the math, with nothing in between for someone who genuinely wants to understand the machine. So I built the thing I wanted.

You can reach me on X, or by replying to any email the course sends you. I read all of it.

How it is built

Every lesson is a small piece of software you operate, not a video you watch. You commit a guess before anything moves, then you drag the vectors, sharpen the attention, or turn the crank yourself and watch what the mechanism actually does. Being wrong on purpose first is what makes the reveal stick.

There are 99 lessons and 45 plain-language explainers, all of it in English and Spanish, and none of it generated on the fly: each widget is written for the one idea it teaches.

What you can hold me to

  • The first lessons are free and need no account, so you can judge before paying.
  • No invented numbers, no fake testimonials, and no fabricated scarcity anywhere on this site. If a claim has a source, it is named; if the field is uncertain, the copy says so.
  • It is maintained for the current stack, and one purchase includes the updates. The explainers carry the date they were last reviewed.
  • If something here is wrong, tell me and I will fix it. That has happened, and I would rather it kept happening.
